An IPTV Smarters alternative for Samsung TVs
In short: IPTV Smarters Pro is a free Xtream Codes player listed in Samsung's US app store. If it works well on your TV, you may not need anything else. opencream TV is another free option. It adds a calm home screen for your other apps, switches to a backup server by itself, and searches channels, films, series and the guide at once. You install it once from a computer, outside the store. Neither app includes channels.

Why people look for an alternative
Some owners can't find IPTV Smarters in their TV's store, judging by threads on Samsung's community forum. Others want live TV on the same screen as their other apps.
opencream TV was built for that last reason. It started as one person's home screen and grew an IPTV player because that's what the family watched.
What opencream TV does differently
It is your home screen too. Live TV, Movies and Series sit on the same row as YouTube, Netflix and your Xbox. You can set the TV to start in it. (The remote's Home button still opens Samsung's home.)
It keeps playing when a server drops. Enter several server addresses separated by commas. If one stops answering, playback moves to the next.
It searches everything at once. Type a word to see channels, films, series and what's on in the guide. On our 2023 QN90C that's about 31,000 guide entries in 0.2 seconds.
It starts channels quickly. The app uses the TV's hardware video player. On our QN90C a channel starts in about a second.
Store changes don't touch it. You install it once from a computer. Updates come through the same installer.
When IPTV Smarters is the better choice
- You want an app from Samsung's store and don't want to use a computer or Developer Mode.
- You need catch-up TV or several subscriptions in one app.
- Your TV is from before 2019. opencream TV doesn't install there.
Switching
- Write down your Xtream Codes login (server, username, password). Your provider has it.
- Install opencream TV. About 20 minutes the first time.
- Type the login into the installer's form or on the TV.
- Hold OK on the channels you watch most to make them favorites.
opencream TV reads Xtream Codes logins only for now. If your service gives you just an M3U link, it can't play it yet.
You can keep IPTV Smarters installed while you try opencream TV. If your subscription allows one device at a time, only play on one app at once.
