Tizen version by model year

Samsung TVs run Tizen, and each model year ships with its own version. opencream TV needs Tizen 5.0 or newer.

Tizen at launch, from Samsung's developer "TV model groups" page (developer.samsung.com, checked 1 November 2026). Some TVs get newer Tizen versions through software updates later. Our 2023 test TV, for example, now runs Tizen 8.

"Supported, not yet tested" means the TV meets the requirement but nobody has sent a report yet. Yours could be the first.

How to find your TV's year

The model code. It's on the sticker on the back of the TV. On most recent Samsung TVs one letter in the code marks the year, for example the C in QN90C for 2023.

Not sure? Try the install. A TV older than 2019 refuses it, so nothing breaks.

Report your TV

The report form asks for your model code, Tizen version and what worked. It takes about two minutes. Please leave out your IPTV login and provider name.

What can differ between models

Audio formats. Some TVs can't play some audio formats. If a channel has no sound, press Down during playback and pick another audio track. Reports tell us which formats work on which models.
Remote keys. On remotes without number buttons, press 123 to type the Developer Mode code. In the app, Up and Down choose PIN digits.
